Shocking Case in Bhopal

In a disturbing incident that has shaken Bhopal, two sisters, Amreen and Afreen, have been apprehended for allegedly luring young women under the pretense of job offers, leading to rape and forced religious conversion. The police are also searching for three additional suspects.

Details of the Arrest

The sisters targeted vulnerable girls from impoverished backgrounds, promising them domestic work with attractive salaries, accommodation, meals, and a lavish lifestyle. However, these job offers turned into a terrifying trap. Let's delve into the details of their actions.

How the Case Came to Light

According to police reports, two women filed complaints at the Bagh Sewania police station on Sunday night. Although the complaints were distinct, the modus operandi was similar. The first complaint was lodged by a 21-year-old woman from Mungeli, Chhattisgarh, while the second was from a 32-year-old woman in Bhopal.

The Deceptive Tactics Used

Amreen and Afreen, who previously lived in a slum in Abbas Nagar, had recently moved to a luxurious residence in Sagar Royal Villa, allegedly purchased with money earned from exploiting young women. They invited girls under the guise of domestic employment but gradually took them to parties, pubs, and lounges, pressuring them to socialize with wealthy men.

Allegations of Rape and Intimidation

The victim from Mungeli reported that she was taken to Ahmedabad in December 2025, where she was raped by Yasir. Additionally, Bilal and Chanu also assaulted her at different times. The Bhopal victim claimed that Chandan Yadav raped her at Amreen's home in her absence, threatening her with death or disgrace if she spoke out.

Pressure to Convert

The FIR also mentions Chandan Yadav, who converted from Hinduism to Islam, pressuring one victim to embrace Islam, promising her a good marriage. Under duress, she felt compelled to convert and was later instructed to wear a burqa and perform prayers.

Police Action Taken

During the arrests, police seized the mobile phones of Amreen, Afreen, and Chandan. Amreen's phone contained several suspicious WhatsApp groups with images of various young women. Authorities are now investigating financial transactions, travel records, and digital communications to determine if this was an isolated incident or part of a larger network. DCP Gautam Solanki stated, 'The female complainant has filed a rape report. The crime has been registered, and further investigations are ongoing.'

Extent of the Network

The police are currently trying to ascertain whether this crime was confined to Bhopal or if it was part of a broader network extending to Gujarat and Mumbai. Victims reported being threatened and blackmailed with humiliating photographs if they attempted to leave their jobs.
