Overview of the Bharat Sanatan Premier League
Indore is set to host the Bharat Sanatan Premier League (SPL), a cricket tournament of national significance, taking place from March 13 to March 15, 2026. This event is organized by SANATAN CRICKET CLUB LLP and aims to engage the youth in cultural values, discipline, and social responsibility through sports.
A Tournament of National Pride
The SPL is being promoted as a National Pride Cricket Tournament. It will be conducted under the spiritual mentorship of Shri Devkinandan Thakur Ji Maharaj, the league's chief patron. The involvement of saints and spiritual figures is anticipated to motivate players to adopt discipline, self-control, and positive life principles.
Teams Inspired by National Heroes
The tournament will feature eight teams, each named after legendary figures to inspire participants. The teams include:
1. Chhatrapati Shivaji Warriors (Maharashtra)
2. Subhash Chandra Bose Freedom XI (West Bengal)
3. Sardar Bhagat Singh Brigade (Punjab)
4. Rani Lakshmibai Strikers (Uttar Pradesh)
5. Ahilya Mata Guardians (Madhya Pradesh)
6. Samrat Ashok Lions (Delhi)
7. Chandrashekhar Azad Sena (Uttarakhand)
8. Maharana Pratap Ranbankure (Rajasthan)
The matches will be played in a T10 format, comprising 15 games, including group stages, semi-finals, and the final. All matches will occur in a day-night format to enhance the viewing experience. A friendly match will precede the final to promote unity and sportsmanship.
Player Selection Trials
Player trials will commence on February 2, 2026, across eight cities: Navi Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Indore, Noida, Dehradun, and Jaipur. Talented individuals selected during these trials will represent their respective states in the tournament.
The champions will receive ₹31 lakh, while the runners-up will take home ₹15 lakh. The Man of the Series will be awarded a car, and each Man of the Match will earn ₹21,000 in cash.
The SPL will also support national campaigns like Fit India and Khelo India, promoting a culture of fitness and sports.
