Priya Kumari's Remarkable Victory

In a thrilling finish at the IGU Pune Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship held at the Oxford Golf Resort, Bengaluru's Priya Kumari showcased her skills by sinking two crucial putts under pressure. She secured both the overall championship title and the Category 'A' title for ages 15-17.

Priya began her final round with a 10-foot birdie putt on the last hole, which allowed her to tie with Rajasthan's Ojaswini Saraswat, who delivered an impressive three-under 69 on the final day. During the playoff, Priya reached the green in two strokes and made a five-foot birdie putt, while Ojaswini could only manage a par, finishing in second place.

Both players concluded the tournament with a three-day total of even-par 216, although Priya's five-shot lead had narrowed to just one after a double-bogey on the ninth hole.

Ojaswini's strong performance on the final day saw her equalize after Priya dropped a shot on the 15th hole. Ojaswini then birdied the 17th, taking the lead for the first time. However, Priya responded by birdieing the 18th to level the score again.

In the playoff, Priya's precise 6-iron shot set her up for a five-foot birdie, which she successfully converted to clinch the championship.
