The Secretary of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), Santosh Menon, has announced that the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will be the venue for five home matches of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during the IPL 2026 season. Additionally, the stadium will host the final match and one playoff game of the tournament.
Menon stated, "RCB will play five league matches in Bengaluru, and the playoff will also take place here. The most exciting news is that the IPL final will be held in Bengaluru. Fans can look forward to an inaugural event, with the date to be announced soon, followed by the first match, five league games, one playoff, and the final. The BCCI has assured us of this, and the schedule will be revealed shortly. The RCB roar will resonate once again at the Chinnaswamy Stadium."
RCB Expresses Gratitude for Support
In a recent statement, RCB expressed heartfelt thanks to the Government of Karnataka, the KSCA, and the Karnataka Police for their continuous support in organizing matches in Bengaluru. The collaborative efforts to enhance infrastructure and safety measures ahead of the IPL season have allowed the defending champions to play most of their home games at their home ground.
Rajesh Menon, CEO of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, remarked, "The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is not just our home; it embodies our team's spirit. The enthusiasm of our fans in Bengaluru has always motivated our players, inspiring them throughout the game. Our fans have been unwavering in their support, and they deserve to see their team compete at home."
"After thorough discussions and obtaining the necessary permissions, we are delighted to confirm that RCB will play five matches in Bengaluru. We extend our gratitude to the Government of Karnataka, the KSCA, and the Karnataka Police for their assistance in making this happen," Menon added.
