Bengaluru Police Arrests Man for False Bomb Threat to ISRO Headquarters

Bengaluru police have arrested a man from Ghaziabad for allegedly sending a false bomb threat email to the ISRO headquarters. The suspect, who is reported to be mentally ill, was tracked down using digital evidence. Following the email threat received on July 2, police conducted a thorough investigation but found no suspicious items. The case has raised concerns about mental health issues, as the individual was found to be suffering from a mental illness. Further inquiries are ongoing as ISRO officials have also reported receiving another bomb threat call.
 

Arrest Made in ISRO Bomb Threat Case

Bengaluru law enforcement has apprehended an individual from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, who was previously arrested by Delhi police for allegedly sending a false bomb threat email to the ISRO headquarters. Authorities have indicated that the suspect is mentally unstable.


On July 2, the ISRO headquarters, located on New BEL Road in the Sanjay Nagar police jurisdiction, received an alarming email warning of a bomb explosion in the office.


Taking the threat seriously, police promptly arrived at the scene and conducted a thorough investigation. No suspicious items or situations were discovered, confirming that the bomb threat was indeed a hoax.


Following a complaint from the Administrative Officer of ISRO, a case was registered at the Sanjay Nagar police station, prompting an investigation. A special investigation team was formed to track down the suspect, utilizing technical analysis and digital evidence. This led to the identification and detention of the individual in Ghaziabad.


The police seized the electronic device used by the suspect, which confirmed that he had sent the threatening email to the ISRO headquarters in Bengaluru. Further inquiries revealed that the individual suffers from mental health issues. An officer noted that on Thursday, the ISRO headquarters received another false bomb threat call.


Subsequently, ISRO officials filed a complaint, and the police will continue their investigation into this incident. DCP Babasab Neema Gowda from North Bengaluru stated, "In the afternoon, the ISRO headquarters in the Sanjay Nagar area received a bomb threat call. Our officers arrived at ISRO and conducted a thorough check; nothing was found. ISRO officials are filing a complaint with us, and we will take over the investigation from here."
