Jaswinder Bhalla, the celebrated comedian and esteemed Punjabi actor, passed away on Tuesday morning at Fortis Hospital in Mohali after battling a prolonged illness. He was 65 years old.


A cherished figure in Punjabi cinema, Bhalla was known for his sharp wit, impeccable comedic timing, and humorous dialogues that brought joy to audiences for decades. His characters not only entertained but also captured the essence of everyday life with simplicity and humor.


He appeared in numerous hit films such as Carry On Jatta, Jind Jaan, Band Baaje, and Gaddi Chalti Hai Chhalaang Maar Ke, each performance garnering him widespread affection and respect. His comedy resonated with people of all ages, solidifying his status as one of Punjab's most beloved entertainers.


Born on May 4, 1960, in Doraha, Ludhiana, Bhalla initially worked as a professor before pursuing his passion for comedy. He began his career in 1988 with Chhankata 88 and quickly gained recognition as a prominent comedian. He later transitioned into films with Dulla Bhatti, establishing himself as a versatile and respected actor in Punjabi cinema.


His final rites are scheduled to take place on August 23 at 12 noon at the Balangi crematorium in Mohali.
