Priya Marathe's Untimely Demise

Priya Marathe, a talented television actress and comedian renowned for her portrayal of Varsha Satish in the popular series Pavitra Rishta, sadly passed away in Mumbai on August 31, 2025, at the age of 38. Her death followed a lengthy struggle with cancer.


As reported by local media, Marathe had been receiving treatment for over a year but ultimately succumbed to the illness, taking her last breath on Sunday morning.


A Glimpse into Priya Marathe's Life

Born on April 23, 1987, in Mumbai, Priya completed her education in the city before embarking on her career in the entertainment sector.


She initially gained recognition through Marathi television serials such as Ya Sukhanoya and Char Divas Sasuche. Her transition to Hindi television began with Balaji Telefilms’ Kasamh Se, and she showcased her comedic talent in the inaugural season of Comedy Circus.


Marathe's role in Zee TV’s Pavitra Rishta catapulted her to fame. Throughout her career, she featured in numerous popular shows, including Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Tu Tithe Me, Bhaage Re Mann, Jayastute, and Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. In 2012, she married fellow actor Shantanu Moghe.
