Shiv Sena Leader Highlights Importance of Baramati By-Election

Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC described the ongoing Baramati assembly by-election as a significant referendum on the commendable work done by the late Ajit Pawar and Sunetra Pawar. Speaking to the media, Shaina emphasized that the by-election in Baramati serves as a testament to the decades of service provided by both Ajit and Sunetra Pawar. The Pawar family has always regarded Baramati, their constituency, as their own, and she expressed confidence that the outcome would be a historic mandate.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar arrived at a polling station in Katewadi on Thursday morning to cast her vote for the Baramati assembly by-election. She told reporters that the people of Baramati are voting to express their love for the late Ajit Pawar in this election.

Participation of Key Political Figures

Accompanying the Deputy Chief Minister was MP Parth Ajit Pawar, who also cast his vote at a district council school, marking his participation in the democratic process. In her conversation with journalists, Sunetra Pawar noted that the residents of Baramati have stood by the 'Pawar' family for the past 60 years. This election is taking place in the absence of 'Dada', and the people of Baramati have decided to vote in his memory as a tribute.

Before casting her vote in the Baramati assembly by-election, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar paid homage to her late husband and former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The seat was declared vacant following Ajit Pawar's tragic death in an airplane accident.

Support from Maharashtra's Chief Minister

Earlier on Wednesday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed full confidence in Sunetra Pawar, the candidate from the Mahayuti alliance, stating that she possesses the capability to carry forward the legacy and fulfill the unfinished dreams of the late leader Ajit Pawar.

During the final rally before the Baramati by-election scheduled for April 23, Fadnavis remarked that not only has she become the state's first female Deputy Chief Minister, but she is also emerging as a strong and capable leader. He expressed no doubt about her potential. Reflecting on the sentiments following Ajit Pawar's passing, the Chief Minister noted, "There is deep sympathy and affection for Ajit Pawar in everyone's heart. However, the manner of his accident has raised many doubts in people's minds."
