On Wednesday, Bangladesh celebrated a remarkable achievement by completing a 2-0 Test series whitewash against Pakistan, winning the second Test by 78 runs at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. This victory marks Bangladesh's first clean sweep in a Test series against Pakistan on home soil and their second overall, following a similar 2-0 win in Pakistan in 2024.

Taijul Islam's Match-Winning Performance

Facing a daunting target of 437 runs in the fourth innings, Pakistan showed determination but ultimately fell short, being bowled out for 358. Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam played a pivotal role in the final day's play, dismantling the Pakistani batting order with impressive bowling figures of 6 wickets for 120 runs in 34.2 overs.

First Innings Highlights

Choosing to bowl first, Pakistan allowed Bangladesh to score 278 runs in their first innings, largely thanks to a brilliant 126 from wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das. In reply, Pakistan struggled and was dismissed for 232, despite a quick 68 runs from Babar Azam.
