Badruddin Ajmal Predicts Defeat for Assam's Chief Minister Ahead of Assembly Elections
Ajmal's Bold Predictions for the Upcoming Elections
Guwahati, March 30: With the Assam Assembly elections just around the corner, Badruddin Ajmal, the president of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), has confidently asserted that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will face a significant defeat, suggesting he will 'whimper' post-results.
In a pointed critique of the Chief Minister, Ajmal remarked, “Currently, he is mocking ‘miyas’, making threats; this time, it will be his back that breaks, not ours. Let him do his utmost to retain power.”
Ajmal, who is running for the Binnakandi Assembly seat, accused the ruling BJP of consistently targeting minority communities and expressed optimism about his party's performance in the elections scheduled for April 9.
He criticized the NDA government's divisive rhetoric, claiming it specifically targets certain societal groups.
“We have noticed a troubling trend in their discourse, where they are singling out the ‘miyas’, treating them with disdain and humiliation. We will protest against this behavior until the end,” he stated during a press conference.
Ajmal also condemned the overall political dialogue, stating it fails to focus on developmental issues.
“While the world progresses, we are caught up in trivial disputes over ‘miya, miya’. It’s shameful. We should be concentrating on advancing the country,” he emphasized.
He outlined that AIUDF's campaign will focus on critical issues affecting Assam.
“Key topics include education, land rights for our community, political representation, healthcare, NRC, and deep water projects. These matters must be addressed,” he asserted.
Regarding potential political alliances, Ajmal hinted at collaborating with Asaduddin Owaisi during the elections.
“We plan to unite with him and campaign together. We believe his vision and strategy will be advantageous for us,” he noted.
Ajmal also mentioned that health issues have hindered his campaign efforts, expressing regret over not being able to visit various constituencies.
“If I could have visited more areas, it would have uplifted our candidates' spirits. Nonetheless, our team will continue to work diligently, and with God's grace, we will achieve victory,” he concluded.
