Ayush Minister Advocates for Holistic Health at National Arogya Fair 2026
Promoting Ayush for Health and Empowerment
New Delhi, Feb 27: Ayush is not merely a medical system; it represents a broader movement aimed at social change, rural empowerment, and establishing global leadership in holistic health, stated Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav during his address on Friday.
While speaking at the ‘National Arogya Fair 2026’ held in Shegaon, Buldhana district, Maharashtra, Jadhav underscored the increasing significance of Ayush in tackling lifestyle-related health issues.
He encouraged the public to adopt disciplined habits, such as going to bed early and waking up early, to help manage conditions like diabetes and hypertension.
The Minister emphasized the need for preventive healthcare and advocated for the use of simple Ayurvedic home remedies based on traditional knowledge, highlighting the concept of “Aaji Bai ka Batua” as a cost-effective and practical approach for self-care in villages.
Jadhav also pointed out the necessity of structured market connections, quality assurance, and institutional backing to position India as a dependable global supplier of raw materials from medicinal plants.
The Ministry's pavilion showcases contributions from its Research Councils, National Institutes, and the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), highlighting research achievements, academic initiatives, clinical services, public health efforts, and evidence-based advancements across various Ayush systems.
As per an official announcement, a diverse array of physical and digital Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials are being shared to raise awareness about flagship initiatives, research findings, and public health outreach programs.
Interactive digital exhibits and displays on medicinal plants and herbal products are attracting visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
The statement also mentioned that free medical consultations are available from qualified practitioners across Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homeopathy systems.
“A dedicated Ayush Aahaar segment is promoting region-specific, nutritionally balanced dietary practices aligned with Ayush principles, highlighting the essential role of diet in preventive healthcare and overall wellness,” it noted.
The fair has become a vital platform for direct interaction among citizens, healthcare professionals, farmers, and industry stakeholders.
