On Thursday, an important administrative meeting of the AYUSH Department took place in Bharmaur, led by Dr. Indu Sharma, the Deputy Director of AYUSH for the Kangra Zone. The meeting also saw the participation of Dr. Anita Sharma, the AYUSH Officer for Chamba District, along with Dr. Rajesh Kumar.
During the visit, officials evaluated the 10-bed Ayurvedic Hospital and the Sub-Divisional Office. They instructed the medical staff to actively engage in providing Ayurvedic treatments and to carry out minor surgical procedures.
Preparations for International Yoga Day 2026 Discussions centered around the upcoming International Yoga Day, focusing on organizing yoga events throughout the subdivision. Dr. Sharma provided essential directives to the medical officers, which included:
- Community Engagement & Awareness: Involve local communities, Panchayati Raj institutions, schools, and youth organizations to transform the event into a widespread public initiative.
- Venue Selection: Identify and secure appropriate, accessible sites for large-scale yoga demonstrations.
- Trainer Deployment: Ensure that certified yoga instructors and trained AYUSH Medical Officers are available to lead sessions at all selected venues.
- Coordination Efforts: Collaborate closely with local authorities, police, and educational departments to ensure smooth execution and effective crowd management.
In her address, the Deputy Director underscored the significance of promoting the preventive and health benefits of Ayurveda and Yoga, stressing the vital role of medical officers in raising awareness and ensuring successful implementation.
