Introduction

It is often advised to be generous, assist others, and show compassion. However, this kindness should be reserved for certain individuals. There are some people for whom showing pity can be detrimental. The ancient philosopher Chanakya has discussed three types of individuals whom one should avoid helping.

Wicked and Immoral Women

According to Chanakya, it is wise to refrain from assisting women who are inherently wicked and lack moral character. Women who consistently belittle others are not deserving of your help. Offering assistance to such individuals may lead to them exploiting you. These women often have a strong desire for wealth.

They can be likened to a venomous snake in society, capable of striking at any moment. Furthermore, they may pass on their negative traits to their offspring, resulting in future generations becoming a burden on society. Therefore, it is best to avoid helping them.

Foolish Individuals

Chanakya advises against helping foolish people. Engaging in friendship or arguments with them is futile. Offering advice is a waste of time, as they will attempt to outsmart you with their flawed reasoning and fail to comprehend your perspective.

Even if you try to help them for their own good, they may take it as an affront to their ego. This could lead to them becoming adversarial, potentially causing you harm. Maintaining a relationship with such individuals can lead to mental stress, so it is advisable to keep your distance.

Negative and Perpetually Unhappy Individuals

Chanakya suggests that one should steer clear of individuals who are consistently negative and always lamenting their misfortunes. A wise person can remain positive even in challenging situations, while a foolish and negative person is never satisfied.

Their negative mindset can bring you down as well. They may harbor jealousy towards your happiness and sometimes feign sadness, spreading negativity in their surroundings. It is best to avoid such people and refrain from offering them assistance.
