Australia's T20I Tour of Pakistan: Schedule and Key Insights
Series Schedule and World Cup Context
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the itinerary for Australia's upcoming T20I tour of Pakistan, set to commence later this month. The three-match T20I series will be hosted at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on January 29, January 31, and February 1, according to the PCB's official announcement.
This series is vital for both teams as they prepare for the ICC Men's T20I World Cup 2026, with Pakistan competing in Group A and Australia in Group B.
Player Fitness and Tour History
This marks Australia's third visit to Pakistan since March-April 2022, when they participated in a three-match Test and ODI series, followed by a single T20I. Additionally, Australia played three matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. Currently, key players for Australia, including Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, and Tim David, are in recovery, while Pakistan's Shaheen Shah Afridi is also out due to an injury sustained during the Big Bash League.
PCB Welcomes Australian Side
Sumair Ahmed Syed, the COO of the PCB, expressed enthusiasm for the visiting Australian team, emphasizing the significance of the series for cricket fans in Pakistan.
"We are thrilled to host Australia for this three-match T20I series in Lahore. This tour signifies an exciting start to the year for cricket enthusiasts in Pakistan, and I encourage fans to come out in large numbers to support both teams as they finalize their preparations for the T20 World Cup," Syed stated.

Pakistan recently concluded a T20I series in Sri Lanka, which ended in a draw, while Australia achieved a remarkable 4-1 victory in the Ashes Test series against England.
