In Hooghly, West Bengal, an attack occurred on the vehicle of TMC MP Mithali Bag on Monday. The incident took place while she was en route to join Abhishek Banerjee's roadshow from Goghat to Arambagh. The assault resulted in shattered windows of her car, and both the MP and her driver sustained injuries.


Medical Response

Following the attack, both Mithali Bag and her driver were admitted to Arambagh Medical College Hospital. In a visibly emotional state, Mithali Bag spoke to the media, expressing her distress, 'Look at the condition of my car. They threw large stones. I barely escaped with my life.'


Political Allegations

The TMC has accused BJP supporters of launching the attack on her vehicle with bricks, stones, and sticks in Goghat. The party took to social media to assert that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had previously threatened that anyone stepping outside would face severe consequences, linking this threat to the recent violence.


Arrests Made

Law enforcement has apprehended three suspects identified as Sintu Santra, Sanatan Santra, and Rajkumar Roy, who are alleged to be BJP workers.
