The re-examination will take place at 88 centers across 17 districts, with over 43,000 candidates expected to participate in Assam alone.

Officials evaluated various preparatory aspects, including the readiness of examination centers, security arrangements, CCTV monitoring, biometric verification systems, power backup, transportation for candidates, and inter-agency collaboration.

District administrations were instructed to enforce a dual-layer frisking protocol and ensure the secure handling and transport of confidential examination materials. Deputy Commissioners and SSPs were tasked with overseeing all arrangements on the examination day.

Candidate welfare was also a key focus during the review. Special attention was given to ensuring access to drinking water, adequate seating, functional fans, clean restrooms, shaded waiting areas, and other essential facilities at examination centers.

On a national scale, the Central government is considering utilizing Indian Air Force aircraft for the secure transport of NEET-UG question papers to ensure the re-examination is conducted flawlessly.

This proposal was discussed in a high-level meeting led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, with participation from Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

No final decision has been made yet, but the proposal is anticipated to be presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approval.

The NEET-UG paper leak issue surfaced on May 7, just four days after the examination was held on May 3.

The test took place in 551 cities across India and 14 international centers, with nearly 2.3 million candidates registered.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently investigating the alleged leak as authorities strive to restore confidence in the examination process ahead of the re-test.
