Assam Police Seizes Over ₹1 Crore Worth of Illegal Substances in Karbi Anglong
Significant Drug Bust in Karbi Anglong District
In a major operation, authorities in Assam's Karbi Anglong district have confiscated illegal substances valued at more than ₹1 crore, including opium. This information was shared by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
However, the Chief Minister did not disclose whether any arrests were made during this operation.
On Saturday, Sarma took to the social media platform 'X' to state, 'Whether you are the 'Heisenberg' of Karbi Anglong with 19 kilograms of opium worth ₹1.2 crore or you possess 40 suspicious cartons of cigarettes from Myanmar, Assam police will track you down and apprehend you.'
The reference to 'Heisenberg' alludes to the fictional character Walter Hartwell White Sr. from the American crime series 'Breaking Bad.' The Chief Minister emphasized, 'Drug traffickers will not be spared; our fight against this menace continues relentlessly.'
