New Delhi, June 3: On Wednesday, Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with President Droupadi Murmu, marking his first engagement with her since beginning his second consecutive term. During this meeting, he provided an overview of the state's economic advancements and future development strategies.
Sarma praised the President, referring to her as an "epitome of courage, resilience, and leadership," and expressed that the meeting was truly motivating.
He shared on social media, "Engaging with the President is always uplifting, and her encouraging words inspire us in our public service endeavors."
In their discussion, Sarma highlighted Assam's impressive growth as one of India's fastest-growing states and detailed his administration's plans to maintain this positive trajectory. He also requested her blessings and guidance as his government prioritizes public welfare, infrastructure development, and economic growth.

This meeting took place on the fourth day of Sarma's visit to the national capital, where he has been engaged in discussions with various high-ranking officials, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several Cabinet ministers, and prominent business leaders.
Earlier on the same day, Sarma met with Jagrut Kotecha, the CEO of PepsiCo India, to talk about the company's current operations in Assam and its plans for expansion.
He noted on a micro-blogging platform, "Assam is progressively becoming a favored destination for diverse industrial activities."
Before this, he also had a meeting with Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, and Electronics and IT, Jitin Prasada, at his residence.
