Ashok Gehlot Accuses BJP of Revoking Land Allocations in Rajasthan

Jaipur, July 27 - Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Rajasthan has annulled over 300 land allocations that were granted during the previous Congress administration. He accused the current government of acting out of vindictiveness. In a statement, Gehlot remarked, “The BJP government has revoked more than 300 land allocations made by our Congress government for various departments, societies, and welfare purposes.”

He pointed out that many of these allocations were canceled despite the institutions having deposited the required earnest money. Gehlot emphasized that these allocations were not for any political party but were intended for hostels for students coming from villages, social organizations, and public facilities. He stated, “Cancelling these allocations is an insult to the communities and a blow to the future of our youth. There is immense anger among the communities regarding this.”

He further highlighted the irony that the same government has no shortage of land for the BJP's new state headquarters and district offices, where allocation files are being processed continuously. Gehlot questioned, “Is Rajasthan's land only meant for BJP offices and not for the underprivileged communities and our children? Does the BJP not take the Gen-Z youth seriously?”

Gehlot has called on the government to release a white paper on this issue.

He stated, “The government should issue a white paper detailing which allocations were revoked and on what grounds. All decisions made out of vindictiveness should be reversed immediately, and all allocations should be reinstated.”
