Arvind Kejriwal's Shift to Ram Bhakti Sparks Political Controversy
Kejriwal's Transformation into a Devout Ram Bhakt
Once suggesting the construction of schools, hospitals, or toilets at the Ram Janmabhoomi site, Arvind Kejriwal is now fervently trying to portray himself as a staunch devotee of Lord Ram. Previously, he had launched a campaign to showcase his integrity, but the people of Delhi ousted his dishonest government from power. Currently, Kejriwal is focused on branding himself as a devoted follower of Lord Hanuman and Lord Ram. Having previously labeled temple politics as the BJP's agenda, he is now attacking the BJP over the Ram Mandir donation controversy. However, a political jab he directed at BJP President Nitin Naveen backfired on him. When Kejriwal asked, "Who are you?" the BJP responded in a way that left the Aam Aadmi Party leader cornered.
The controversy ignited when Nitin Naveen addressed a BJP conference in Lucknow, targeting Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, and Kejriwal. He asserted that Hinduism is too resilient for people to be swayed by the opposition. Naveen accused opposition leaders of remaining silent when Hindu deities are insulted, emphasizing that the nation will never tolerate attacks on Sanatan Dharma, which has been preserved through the sacrifices of ancestors.
In response to Naveen's remarks, Kejriwal took to social media with a simple three-word comment: "Who are you?" He likely believed this would unsettle the BJP, but they turned it around, labeling it a sign of arrogance and political despair.
Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stepped in with a sharp retort, highlighting Nitin Naveen's credentials as the youngest national president of the world's largest party, having served four consecutive terms as an MLA from Bihar's Bankipur constituency and rising from a youth worker to national president. Gupta pointed out that while Kejriwal appears disheartened, his arrogance remains sky-high.
Gupta didn't stop there; she referenced a past statement by Mamata Banerjee, who had once asked, "Who is Amit Shah?" She warned Kejriwal, using the example of Ravana's downfall due to his pride, questioning how Kejriwal could expect to fare any better.
Other BJP leaders quickly seized on Kejriwal's comments, branding him a symbol of political arrogance. Delhi government minister Pravesh Verma also chimed in, recalling his victory over Kejriwal in the New Delhi assembly elections. Culture Minister Kapil Mishra took a stronger stance, mocking Kejriwal on social media, suggesting that the AAP was so intoxicated that they forgot who they were, referencing the significant role of the liquor scandal in AAP's electoral losses.
BJP leaders are framing this entire incident as a reflection of Kejriwal's political frustrations and his anti-Sanatan image. The backdrop of this controversy is the ongoing Ram Mandir donation scandal, with the AAP consistently criticizing the BJP and the central government over alleged irregularities in the donations received for the temple. The Ayodhya police are currently interrogating eight suspects in custody regarding this matter.
Meanwhile, political circles are buzzing with questions about how Kejriwal, once an opponent of the Ram Mandir, has suddenly transformed into a fervent "Ram Bhakt." The BJP is preparing to raise this question among the public. On the other hand, Kejriwal is attempting to use the Ram Mandir donation controversy as a weapon against the BJP. However, his seemingly innocuous jab of "Who are you?" appears to be backfiring, as the BJP has intensified its campaign to portray him as arrogant, opportunistic, and anti-Sanatan. In politics, even three words can create a significant uproar, and this time, that storm seems to be brewing at Arvind Kejriwal's doorstep.
