Kejriwal Leads Protest Against E20 Fuel Policy

New Delhi: On Tuesday, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), reaffirmed his commitment to opposing the E20 fuel initiative, encouraging citizens to join the movement to halt its rollout.

During a press conference following a march towards the Prime Minister's residence, where they aimed to submit petitions against E20 fuel, Kejriwal emphasized that the party would resist any attempts to implement this policy in states where AAP holds legislative seats.

"We have representatives in Goa and Gujarat, and we will ensure that E20 does not pass in those assemblies," he stated.

Despite only about 100 participants joining the march, Kejriwal praised their bravery in the face of online criticism and trolling.

The Delhi Police intervened on Tuesday, preventing Kejriwal and other party leaders from proceeding to the Prime Minister's residence with their petitions, which totaled over 230,000, leading them to protest on Firoz Shah Road instead.

"If the public wishes to eliminate E20, they must take to the streets in greater numbers," he urged.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh mentioned that he had raised the E20 issue in Parliament, receiving a response that suggested the government's firm intention to proceed with the policy.

"The reply I received today indicates that the government is set on implementing E20," Singh asserted.

He further claimed that Indian farmers would not gain from ethanol production, suggesting that the policy would primarily benefit U.S. farmers.

Kejriwal appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resist pressure from President Donald Trump and halt ethanol imports from the U.S., alleging that the policy prioritizes foreign interests over those of Indian farmers.
