Arvind Kejriwal to March to PM Modi's Residence Over E20 Fuel Concerns

Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, is set to march to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence with 100 supporters to submit a memorandum against E20 fuel. He claims that the central government is under pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump to promote ethanol-blended petrol, which he believes indicates a hidden agenda. Kejriwal has previously reached out to the Prime Minister regarding concerns over E20 but received no response. The protest aims to highlight the issues faced by citizens using this fuel, and a signature campaign against it has already gathered over two lakh signatures.

Kejriwal's Planned March Against E20 Fuel

New Delhi, August 3 - Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), announced that he will lead a march with 100 supporters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence on Tuesday to submit a memorandum opposing E20 fuel. He accused the central government of promoting this fuel under pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump.

Kejriwal claimed that India has 'bowed down' to Trump by agreeing to purchase ethanol from the U.S. He expressed concerns that the government's continuous promotion of ethanol-blended petrol indicates a 'hidden agenda.' During a press conference on Monday, he stated, 'I will personally deliver petitions signed by the public to the Prime Minister's residence tomorrow and discuss issues related to ethanol-blended petrol. People are facing various problems with their vehicles.'

Despite these issues, the government continues to promote this fuel, suggesting ulterior motives behind it. He remarked, 'People are saying that Prime Minister Modi is under pressure from the U.S. to buy ethanol.' Kejriwal mentioned that he had previously sent a letter to the Prime Minister requesting a meeting to discuss concerns regarding E20 petrol, but received no response. Therefore, he has decided to deliver the memorandum in person.

In his letter, Kejriwal requested that both pure petrol and E20 fuel be made available at petrol stations and also called for a reduction in the price of ethanol-blended petrol. He added, 'Since we did not receive a response to our letter, we will now personally submit the memorandum to the Prime Minister. We initiated a signature campaign against ethanol-blended petrol, which has garnered over two lakh signatures.'

Kejriwal also noted that the 'AAP' organized a successful dialogue event last week titled 'Ethanol Townhall,' which saw significant online participation.
