Kejriwal Concludes Protest and Delivers Petitions

Arvind Kejriwal has ended his protest and submitted approximately 230,000 petitions to the government. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claims that a copy of the petitions, signed by over 233,000 individuals opposing E20 fuel, has been delivered to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The party is now awaiting a response from the Prime Minister. Earlier, Delhi police had prevented Kejriwal and other AAP leaders from marching towards the Prime Minister's residence, which led to their decision to submit the petitions against E20 petrol. Following this, Kejriwal, along with former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and other party members, staged a protest on Feroz Shah Road. Approximately 100 participants joined this march to submit the petitions collected from across the nation, voicing concerns about the negative impact of ethanol-blended fuel on vehicle owners. The government has previously clarified its stance on this issue.

Addressing Supporters Before the March

Before the march, Kejriwal addressed his supporters, stating that the party was bringing over 230,000 petitions signed by citizens nationwide and urged the government to listen to the concerns of millions of vehicle owners. He emphasized, "We are heading to the Prime Minister's residence with these petitions and want the government to acknowledge the issues faced by millions due to E20 petrol." AAP leader Anurag Dhanda claimed that 300 million vehicles are on the verge of malfunction due to ethanol-blended petrol. He expressed the public's distress, saying, "People are extremely troubled; they are in a difficult situation. The Prime Minister is ignoring their concerns. Ethanol is being forced upon us due to pressure from former U.S. President Trump, and the leftover ethanol is being dumped in India, which is unacceptable. The voices of the people must be heard. Why won't the Prime Minister meet with us? He previously stated he wouldn't meet with the youth, but he had to eventually."

Police Restrictions on Protesters

According to police sources, protesters were not permitted to advance beyond 5, Feroz Shah Road. A police official stated that no one would be allowed to proceed past this point. To maintain law and order, a significant security presence, including Delhi police and paramilitary forces, has been deployed. This protest follows AAP's recent "Ethanol Town Hall" event and a signature campaign against E20 fuel. Previously, Kejriwal had written to the Prime Minister requesting a meeting to discuss concerns related to ethanol-blended petrol.
