Arundhati Reddy's Remarkable Achievement

In a significant milestone for her career, Indian fast bowler Arundhati Reddy has been honored as the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for February 2026. This recognition comes after her outstanding contributions that were pivotal in securing India's historic series win against Australia.

Expressing her gratitude, Reddy stated, "Being named ICC Player of the Month is a tremendous honor, especially since I played a part in our T20I series victory in Australia. Winning against Australia on their home ground is a tough challenge, making this accolade even more special. This triumph has greatly boosted our team's confidence as we prepare for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales this summer. With a well-rounded squad, I am confident we will be a formidable team to watch."

Reddy concluded the three-match T20I series as the leading wicket-taker, claiming eight wickets at an impressive average of 10.87 and an economy rate of 7.25. Her performance was instrumental in India's 2-1 series victory, marking their first T20I series win in Australia since 2016.

The right-arm seamer showcased her skills from the outset in Sydney, achieving a career-best of 4/22 and earning the Player of the Match title. The 28-year-old continued to impress in the subsequent matches, recording figures of 2/30 in Canberra and 2/35 in the decisive game in Adelaide.

As India gears up for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup starting June 12, Reddy's consistent performance will be crucial. The team will face South Africa next in a five-match T20I series beginning April 17.

Following this, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led squad will travel to England in May for a one-off Test and three T20Is, which will serve as vital preparation before their World Cup campaign.
