Arunachal Pradesh Government Reshuffles Senior Police Officers
Major Police Restructuring in Arunachal Pradesh
Itanagar, Mar 16: The government of Arunachal Pradesh has executed a significant reshuffle involving the transfer and posting of 27 senior police officials, which includes members from both the Indian Police Service (IPS) and the Arunachal Pradesh Police Service (APPS).
This decision was made by the Governor following a recent meeting of the Police Establishment Board (PEB), as indicated by an official announcement from the state's Home Department.
Chinmoy Biswal, a senior IPS officer, has been designated as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Security and Crime, while Joy Tirkey has been appointed as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Headquarters (Additional). Mangesh, an IPS officer from Delhi, will assume the role of DIG for TCL.
The reshuffle also includes new appointments for superintendents of police (SPs) in several key districts. Akshat Kausal will now serve as the SP for Tirap, taking over from Aditya Singh, who has been reassigned as the SP for Longding. Shivendu Bhushan, previously the SP for Crime, will now lead as the SP for East Kameng.
In other notable appointments, Sandhya Swamy has been named SP for Kra Daadi, while Pankaj Kumar will take charge as SP for Dibang Valley. Swati Singh has been assigned as SP for Pakke Kesang, and Tasi Darang will become the new SP for Tawang. D W Thungon, who was the SP for Tawang, has been moved to SP for West Kameng.
Achin Garg has been appointed as SP for Crime, and Anjitha Chepyala will oversee the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and Cyber Crime. Dekio Gumja has been designated as the SP for the Special Task Force (STF), and Sepraj Perme will serve as the new SP for the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Home Guards, and Civil Defence.
Additionally, several officers have been assigned as commanding officers for various Indian Reserve Battalions (IRBn) and the Arunachal Armed Police Battalion (AAPBn) throughout the state.
The notification states that these changes aim to enhance police administration and strengthen the law enforcement framework within the state.
