Arsenal Triumphs Over Chelsea in Carabao Cup Semi-Final

London, Feb 4: In a thrilling conclusion, Arsenal advanced to the Carabao Cup final after defeating Chelsea with a 4-2 aggregate score.

The Gunners entered the second leg with a one-goal advantage, thanks to earlier contributions from Viktor Gyokeres, Ben White, and Martin Zubimendi.

Despite a lack of clear chances at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal managed to secure a late victory when Kai Havertz, a former Chelsea player, skillfully rounded goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to score, clinching a 1-0 win.

With a 3-2 lead from the first leg, Arsenal started strong, controlling the game's pace and territory early on.

However, Chelsea's compact defense limited clear opportunities during a tense first hour.

In an attempt to spark their offense, Chelsea's manager Liam Rosenior brought on Estevao and Cole Palmer, but Arsenal's defense held firm against the mounting pressure.

As the match neared its end, Havertz seized a late counterattack opportunity, displaying composure as he rounded Sanchez and found the net, igniting celebrations among Arsenal fans and securing their place at Wembley.

Arsenal will face either Manchester City or Newcastle United in the final, with the latter two teams set to play their semi-final second leg on Wednesday.

Having not reached the Carabao Cup Final in eight years, Arsenal aims for this victory to be the start of a significant cup journey as they pursue success across various competitions this season.

Following this semi-final win, Arsenal will return to Premier League action, facing Sunderland next.

On February 12, they will travel to west London to challenge Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
