Arrest Made in Shocking Delhi Murder Case Involving IRS Officer's Daughter
Significant Breakthrough in Delhi Murder Investigation
In a shocking murder case from Amar Colony in Delhi, police have made a significant arrest. The main suspect, Rahul Meena, a 19-year-old former employee of an IRS officer, has been apprehended at a hotel in Dwarka. He was dismissed from his job approximately two months ago, and authorities had suspected him since the incident.
CCTV Footage Captures the Suspect
During the investigation, it was revealed that Rahul entered the colony around 6:30 AM and entered the victim's home at 6:39 AM. He left the premises around 7:20 AM. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning while the victim's parents were out. Rahul allegedly strangled the young woman with a mobile charging cable, and she was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Robbery Accompanied the Murder
Initial investigations and the autopsy report indicated the possibility of sexual assault prior to the murder. Rahul has been charged with rape, murder, and robbery, as he reportedly stole approximately ₹2.5 lakh from the house. Further inquiries revealed that he had also committed a similar crime against a woman in Alwar, Rajasthan, just hours before arriving in Delhi.
Extensive Operation for Arrest
To capture Rahul Meena, Delhi police formed 15 teams that were dispatched to various locations in Delhi and Rajasthan. Their combined efforts led to his arrest at an OYO hotel in Dwarka. Investigations uncovered that the household staff had access to an extra key, which Rahul used to gain entry and commit the crime.
Victim Found Unconscious
According to Joint Commissioner Vijay Kumar, the victim's family reported her condition after receiving information from the hospital. She was found unconscious on one of the floors of the house. Her parents had gone for a morning walk, and upon returning, they discovered her unresponsive. They rushed her to the hospital, where she was declared dead.
Motive Behind the Crime
Joint Commissioner Vijay Kumar stated that Rahul was hired by the IRS officer about a year ago through a colleague's recommendation but was let go two months prior due to theft of household items. This dismissal likely motivated him to commit the crime as an act of revenge.
Gambling Addiction and Financial Issues
Vijay Kumar also mentioned that Rahul had a gambling addiction and often borrowed money from the household without repaying it. After committing the murder, he changed his clothes and fled the scene. Just a day before, on April 21, he had also been involved in a rape incident in Alwar, indicating a troubling pattern in his behavior.
Ongoing Investigation
The victim's room, where the crime took place, was on the upper floor of the house, and Rahul left with a significant amount of cash. Joint Commissioner Vijay Kumar confirmed that there is substantial evidence against the suspect, and interrogations are ongoing. The police are committed to connecting all aspects of the case to ensure that the perpetrator faces severe consequences.
