Arrest Made in Gruesome Murder Case of Young Woman in Greater Noida
Murder Investigation Leads to Arrest
In a shocking incident in Greater Noida's Beta-2 sector, police have apprehended a suspect following a shootout on Tuesday, after the body of a 27-year-old woman was discovered beneath a parked car.
Authorities revealed that the suspect allegedly killed the woman after she rejected his marriage proposal. Sudhir Kumar, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police for Greater Noida, confirmed that the accused, identified as Ankit Kumar, was captured near Dhakiya Wale Baba Chowk during an encounter with law enforcement.
The victim has been identified as Deepa, a resident of Mahoba district. According to police reports, her body was found on Monday, lying under a vehicle close to a park in the Beta-2 sector. Deepa lived in a rented flat in the area with her younger brother and worked at a private call center located in Sector 60 of Noida.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted to knowing Deepa and claimed to have been in love with her. Police stated that after she declined his marriage proposal, he strangled her to death on the night of January 11 and attempted to conceal the crime by placing her body under the parked car, making it appear as an accident.
