Arrest Made After Disturbing Video of Child Abuse Surfaces in Jharkhand
Child Abuse Incident in Ramgarh District
In Ramgarh district of Jharkhand, a man has been apprehended for allegedly beating a seven-year-old boy after tying him to a tree, suspected of theft. This information was disclosed by the police on Sunday.
The arrest followed the circulation of a 20-second video on social media, which purportedly shows the minor with his hands and feet bound, being assaulted.
The authenticity of this video has not been independently verified by any news agency.
The incident took place on January 9 in the Diesel Colony area of the Patratu police station. The suspect has been identified as Bablu Prasad, also known as Tikadhari, who was captured on Saturday.
Shivlal Gupta, the officer in charge of the Patratu police station, informed that after analyzing the viral video, they arrested the main suspect, Bablu Prasad, who has since been placed in judicial custody.
According to police reports, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed based on a complaint from the victim's elder brother, invoking various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The complainant alleged that Prasad, along with two other individuals from the colony, accused the child of stealing money, subsequently tying him to a tree and beating him. Authorities are currently working to identify and apprehend the other individuals involved in this incident.
