High-Level Security Review in Jammu
Meanwhile, high-level activities have intensified in Jammu district to review security conditions. Senior Superintendent of Police Joginder Singh chaired a crucial review meeting on Tuesday. The primary aim of this meeting was to assess the current security situation in the district and evaluate the effectiveness of the intelligence apparatus. Officials were clearly instructed that there would be no leniency towards anti-social and anti-national activities.
Emphasis on Human Intelligence
The Senior Superintendent of Police particularly stressed the importance of human intelligence. He acknowledged that while modern technology is essential, active local sources and direct information are the most effective in addressing security challenges. He directed officials to strengthen local contacts and coordination to timely prevent any suspicious activities. Police officers were also encouraged to enhance communication with the public and reinforce monitoring in sensitive areas.
Inspection of Border Areas
Earlier, senior officials from the Jammu and Kashmir police conducted a comprehensive inspection of areas adjacent to the India-Pakistan border. Deputy Inspector General Shridhar Patil visited several border regions, including Malla Bharore, Jogwan, and Pallanwala, to assess security arrangements. Accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police Joginder Singh and other officials, the inspection aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of border security mechanisms, operational readiness, and control measures.
Coordination Among Security Agencies
During the visit, officials interacted with personnel stationed at border police posts, instructing them to maintain continuous vigilance. They emphasized the need for strong coordination among security agencies and effective border management to prevent infiltration attempts. Additionally, maintaining trustworthy relationships with residents of border villages was deemed crucial for strengthening local information exchange.
Discovery of Old Terrorist Hideout
In another development, police in the Mendhar area of Rajouri district uncovered an old hideout used by terrorists. During a search operation conducted by a special task force in the Sara Simli Gali area of Darhal, several suspicious items were recovered. From thwarting infiltration attempts along the Line of Control to uncovering traces of old terrorist networks and strengthening intelligence mechanisms, both the army and police are executing a comprehensive strategy.
