Army Outreach Program Inspires Youth at Guwahati Training Camp
Motivating the Next Generation for Armed Forces
Guwahati, July 23: A notable initiative aimed at encouraging youth to consider careers in the armed forces was executed by the Army Recruiting Office (ARO) Narangi. This outreach event took place during the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-75) of the 1 Assam Battalion NCC at Don Bosco School in Guwahati.
The program attracted a vibrant crowd of 435 NCC cadets, including 145 girls and 290 boys, showcasing a rising enthusiasm among the youth to serve in the Indian Army.
Key military figures, such as Brigadier AK Borah, VSM, Commander of the NCC Group Headquarters in Guwahati, and Colonel Manohar Deshmukh, Commanding Officer of the 1 Assam Battalion NCC, attended the event, demonstrating their commitment to engaging the youth in national service.
A motivational talk by the Director of Recruiting and the Assistant Recruiting Officer from ARO Narangi highlighted the event. Cadets were informed about various career paths available in the Indian Army, including officer entry schemes and the Agniveer recruitment model introduced under the new policy.
The session provided essential insights into military life, operational roles, benefits of service, and eligibility for both technical and non-technical positions. Special attention was given to the additional marks available for NCC cadets, ITI graduates, and sports achievers during recruitment.
Cadets received comprehensive guidance on using the Join Indian Army (JIA) portal, preparing for the Common Entrance Exam (CEE), and getting ready for recruitment rallies.
Additionally, the ARO Narangi team addressed concerns regarding recruitment fraud and touting, advising cadets to stay alert and adhere to official recruitment processes.
This outreach was particularly beneficial for female cadets, featuring in-depth discussions on career opportunities for women in the Indian Army.
The initiative not only dispelled myths surrounding army recruitment but also served as a powerful motivational platform, encouraging cadets to pursue a life characterized by service, discipline, and honor.
