Anuj Rawat Reflects on His Journey with RCB and Transition to Gujarat Titans

Anuj Rawat's IPL Journey

Anuj Rawat, the wicketkeeper-batter for Gujarat Titans (GT), shared his heartfelt appreciation for his tenure with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), describing it as a 'dream come true' to play alongside the legendary Virat Kohli during the Indian Premier League (IPL). Anuj was part of the Bengaluru team from 2022 to 2024, having joined for a sum of Rs 3.4 crore.


Known for his aggressive left-handed batting style, Anuj participated in 22 matches for RCB, scoring a total of 318 runs, which included a notable half-century. His standout performance was a remarkable 66-run innings against the Mumbai Indians in 2022.


After his time with RCB, Anuj was acquired by the Gujarat Titans for the 2025 season at his base price of Rs 30 lakh. The cricketer from Uttarakhand was retained for the 2026 IPL season and currently serves as the backup wicketkeeper-batter for the team.


'A Dream Come True'

Ahead of GT's match against the defending champions RCB, Anuj reflected on his experiences with his former team. 'I am very grateful to have been part of a franchise like RCB, especially with Virat Kohli on the team. Those were some of the best days of my life,' he stated.


He emphasized that sharing the dressing room with such an iconic player was a significant highlight of his career, saying, 'Being in the same dressing room as a legend like him is truly a dream come true for me.'


IPL 2026 Standings

As the IPL 2026 season progresses, the Gujarat Titans, under the leadership of Shubman Gill, currently sit fifth on the points table. They have achieved four wins and faced four losses across eight matches, earning a total of eight points with a net run rate of -0.475.


In contrast, the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, are in second place, having won six matches and lost two out of eight, accumulating 12 points with a robust net run rate of 1.919.
