Announcement of Postponement

On Saturday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that Union Home Minister Amit Shah would visit Assam on Monday to inaugurate significant projects aimed at enhancing security and promoting cultural heritage. However, reports have now emerged indicating that Shah's trip to Assam has been postponed.

The delay in Shah's two-day visit to Guwahati is attributed to flight cancellations caused by dense fog, as confirmed by officials.

Schedule for Amit Shah's Visit

Officials mentioned that Shah is now expected to arrive in Guwahati on Monday for a one-day visit. He was initially scheduled to reach on Sunday night and stay at the state guest house in the Koinadhara area.

There were no events planned for Sunday. An official stated that aside from the overnight stay, the rest of his itinerary remains unchanged. Due to the fog-induced flight cancellations, Shah's arrival has been postponed by one day, and he will now arrive on Monday morning.

Tribute to Martyrs and Upcoming Events

On Monday, Shah will pay tribute to the martyrs of the Assam movement against illegal foreigners at the newly constructed 'Shaheed Smarak Area'. Following this, he will head to Borduwa in the Nagaon district to inaugurate the redevelopment project of the spiritual site associated with Vaishnav saint Srimanta Sankardev. He is also scheduled to address a rally in Borduwa.
