Amit Shah's One-Day Visit to West Bengal

On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will embark on a one-day visit to West Bengal to participate in the celebrations marking the 125th birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, a prominent ideologue of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The state government has organized a series of events for this occasion.

Shah's first stop will be at 'Eco Park' located in the eastern part of the metropolis, where he will perform the ground-breaking ceremony for a 125-foot tall statue of the founder of the Janata Party.

Following this, he will visit Mukherjee's ancestral home in Bhawanipur, South Kolkata, to pay his respects with a floral tribute to the former Union minister and academic.

In the evening, Shah is expected to attend a memorial event at the World Bengal Fair Ground, where senior BJP leaders, party workers, and supporters from across the state are anticipated to gather.

Additionally, the central minister may engage in discussions regarding organizational matters with the state BJP unit and strategize on the party's plans in West Bengal. This visit marks Shah's first trip to the state since the BJP formed the government on May 9.
