Amit Shah Launches Infrastructure Projects and Addresses Infiltration Concerns in Bihar
Inauguration of SSB Projects in Bihar
Patna, Feb 26: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated several infrastructure initiatives for the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at the Border Outposts Leti and Indarwa in Araria, Bihar, on Thursday.
During his address to SSB personnel and local community members, Shah highlighted the necessity for increased vigilance along the India-Nepal border, despite the friendly relations shared with the neighboring nation.
He stated, "While we are protecting a border with a friendly country, it is crucial to recognize that anti-national elements may attempt to exploit this route to infiltrate India. Therefore, the Sashastra Seema Bal must maintain alertness and enhance its intelligence operations," Shah emphasized.
Shah stressed the importance of grassroots intelligence, advocating for robust communication between SSB personnel and residents of border villages.
He remarked, "Effective interaction between our soldiers, officers, and the local populace is essential for obtaining accurate and timely information."
Reaffirming a significant electoral promise, the Union Home Minister announced that the Central government is gearing up to initiate a comprehensive campaign against infiltration in the Seemanchal region of Bihar.
"We assured the people of Bihar that we would rid the state of infiltrators. This goes beyond merely removing names from the voter list; we are committed to eliminating every infiltrator from Indian territory," Shah asserted.
He indicated that the campaign would commence shortly, targeting the demolition of illegal encroachments within a 10-kilometer radius of the international border, alongside the identification and deportation of infiltrators.
Shah claimed that infiltrators not only sway elections but also rob the underprivileged of essential welfare benefits.
"Infiltrators deprive the poor of their ration, diminish job opportunities for our youth, and pose a significant threat to national security. It is imperative for the nation to tackle this issue decisively," he stated.
Reflecting on his election campaign, Shah mentioned that he had spent four days in Seemanchal and urged the public to continue supporting the promises made during that time.
The Home Minister asserted that demographic shifts due to infiltration have notably impacted West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar.
Regarding the elections in West Bengal, he expressed confidence in the BJP's potential to form the government there. "Once the BJP is in power in Bengal, prioritizing border fencing and expelling infiltrators will be crucial," he noted.
Shah concluded by affirming that the NDA government in Bihar has received a clear mandate on this agenda, emphasizing that ensuring border security and addressing infiltration are central to the government's vision for the welfare of Bihar.
