On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized that large-scale community gatherings serve to strengthen the nation rather than divide it. Speaking at the Maheshwari Global Convention and Expo in Jodhpur, he asserted that a self-reliant society lays the groundwork for a self-sufficient India. Shah highlighted the importance of India's social fabric and robust community structures in fostering national unity. He stated that if every community takes responsibility for the welfare and safety of its most vulnerable members, it would benefit the entire country.

Criticism of Community Events

Shah noted that whenever social or community events are held, certain so-called progressive individuals often criticize the participants. He shared his personal experiences of facing such criticism. He firmly believes that the structure of our communities and these large gatherings genuinely fortify India; they do not create divisions. If each community assumes responsibility for the welfare of its poorest members, the entire nation will thrive, and if every community becomes self-sufficient, India will achieve self-reliance.

While commending the Maheshwari community, Shah remarked that it has produced individuals who have significantly contributed to various sectors, making India shine like a jewel. He acknowledged that despite their prominence in different fields, this community remains deeply connected to its roots. Shah stated that the gems emerging from the Maheshwari community have adorned the nation across all domains, and even after reaching the highest positions, they maintain their connection to their heritage.

The Home Minister further elaborated that after independence, as India embarked on its journey towards industrial development and self-reliance, the Maheshwari community played a crucial role. He noted that from manufacturing and production to wealth creation and technology, this community has consistently demonstrated progressive thinking. Shah remarked, "When the country gained independence and it was time to advance, become self-reliant, and outpace the world in industrial sectors, the Maheshwari community never looked back. Whether in production, manufacturing hubs, wealth creation, or technology, the Maheshwari community has always proven itself as a progressive society in all these areas."
