On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a fierce critique against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of promoting dynastic politics and failing to ensure development in the state. Speaking at a rally in Mathurapur as part of a transformation journey, Shah claimed that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government prioritizes the interests of Abhishek Banerjee over the welfare of the people of Bengal, urging voters to support the BJP for change.

Allegations Against TMC Leadership

Shah asserted that Banerjee's focus is not on the welfare of the citizens but rather on benefiting Abhishek Banerjee, whom she aims to position as the Chief Minister. He appealed to the youth, stating that while their names may not appear on TMC lists, they can still join the BJP, emphasizing that his party does not engage in dynastic politics.

A Call to the Youth of Bengal

He further questioned the youth of Bengal, asking where their names are listed. He pointed out that their names might not be on TMC's roster but could be on the BJP's. Shah urged the public to reject dynastic politics, warning that continued support for TMC could lead to Abhishek Banerjee taking power instead of Mamata.

Vision for a 'Golden Bengal'

Shah proclaimed that it is time to realize Rabindranath Tagore's dream of a 'Golden Bengal.' He challenged whether Banerjee and her nephew could truly create such a vision. He cautioned the people that if they mistakenly vote for TMC again, it would not be Mamata Didi in charge, but rather a regime led by her nephew.

Addressing Violence in Panchayat Elections

He also raised concerns regarding alleged violence during the recent panchayat elections, stating that many BJP workers faced attacks, with some losing their lives and others still missing. Shah declared that the BJP would not be intimidated by such assaults, asserting their resilience.

A Promise of Accountability

Shah vowed to restore the Lotus government, promising to hold accountable those responsible for violence, stating they would be brought to justice. The transformation journey is a significant statewide campaign leading up to the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, covering over 5,000 kilometers and including 63 major rallies and 282 smaller gatherings, culminating in a grand rally addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata.
