Amarnath Yatra's 28th Batch Passes Through Ramban

The 28th batch of the Amarnath Yatra made its way through Chanderkot in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district. Authorities implemented stringent security measures to ensure the smooth and safe progression of the pilgrimage.

Under the watchful eyes of security personnel, a convoy transporting devotees passed through the transit point. Traffic was managed at key intersections, while officials closely monitored the movement of the convoy to prevent congestion and allow pilgrims to proceed without delays. Chanderkot, located in Ramban district along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, serves as a primary transit point for those visiting the sacred Amarnath cave temple. Given the challenging terrain and the large influx of pilgrims, officials have established a robust plan for security and traffic management.

Continuous Monitoring by Security Forces

Security forces were stationed at critical locations, conducting ongoing checks and surveillance throughout the convoy's passage. Traffic police and civil administration officials collaborated to facilitate vehicle movement while minimizing inconvenience to local residents. Every year, thousands of devotees embark on the Amarnath Yatra, traveling to witness and worship the naturally formed ice Shiva Lingam located at an altitude of approximately 3,900 meters in the Himalayas. Pilgrims can reach the sacred cave via the traditional Pahalgam route in Anantnag district or the shorter yet steep Baltal route in Ganderbal district.

Due to the challenging mountainous paths, unpredictable weather conditions, and the daily influx of numerous pilgrims, extensive logistics and security arrangements are made for this annual journey. Medical teams, disaster relief personnel, and emergency services are on standby to address any emergencies throughout the pilgrimage period.

As of July 26, over 400,000 devotees have visited the holy cave. Authorities have repeatedly advised pilgrims to adhere to the scheduled itinerary, cooperate with security personnel, and follow weather advisories issued periodically. Thanks to the combined efforts of civil administration, police, and security forces, the movement of pilgrim groups has been smooth, with a strong emphasis on their safety and well-being throughout the journey.
