Meanwhile, two-time champions Triveni Continental Kings faced a narrow defeat, losing 9-10 to Ganges Grandmasters, and FYERS American Gambits secured a decisive 10-4 win over PBG Alaskan Knights on the inaugural day.

Pipers Secure Victory Against Mumba Masters

With the return of world number one Magnus Carlsen after a year-long break, the Pipers were under scrutiny as they faced the formidable Mumba Masters. The match began with M Pranesh of Mumba Masters defeating Anish Giri, putting the Pipers under pressure.
