A disabled woman in Puri district, Odisha, has reportedly been raped, as confirmed by local police on Saturday. The incident took place on Friday night within the jurisdiction of the Brahmagiri police station.

According to the police report, the victim stated that an elderly man entered her home while her family members were away and assaulted her.

In response to the incident, authorities have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and have taken the suspect into custody. Police also mentioned that the victim underwent a medical examination, and her statements are being recorded.
