A woman in the Gaya district of Bihar reportedly experienced a traumatic incident during a Home Guard recruitment event, where she lost consciousness and was allegedly assaulted in an ambulance, as reported by a local news outlet.


On Friday, authorities apprehended two ambulance personnel in connection with the alleged rape.


According to police reports, the incident occurred on July 24 when the woman fainted during a physical assessment for Home Guard positions at the Bihar Military Police's third battalion in Bodh Gaya. Upon regaining consciousness, she informed the police that she had been raped by the ambulance staff, expressing severe discomfort in her abdominal and genital regions.


The victim indicated that her memory of the event was hazy due to her unconscious state, stating, “Three to four men who were present in the ambulance assaulted me while I was unconscious,” as per the local news source.


In response to the allegations, Gaya's Senior Superintendent of Police, Anand Kumar, established a special investigation team to thoroughly examine the case, with forensic experts dispatched to gather evidence from the scene.


The arrested individuals have been identified as Vinay Kumar, an ambulance driver from Utren village in Gaya, and Ajit Kumar, a technician from Chandpur village in Nalanda. The police are also investigating the involvement of additional suspects, with assurances that appropriate action will be taken if further evidence emerges.
