Serious Allegations from Vinayak Raut's Daughter-in-Law

Girija Raut, the daughter-in-law of senior leader and former MP Vinayak Raut from the Uddhav Thackeray faction, has made shocking claims of physical and mental abuse, as well as accusations related to superstition against her in-laws. Following her complaint, the police have initiated a thorough investigation and registered a case.

Domestic Violence Under the Guise of Superstition

Girija alleges that her husband suffered from infertility issues, which led her in-laws to force her to consult with shamans. Under the pretense of superstition, they reportedly pulled her hair and coerced her into drinking cow urine.

Emotional and Physical Torture

In her statement, Girija expressed, "For the past seven years, I have endured social, mental, and emotional torment. My in-laws subjected me to mental harassment, physically assaulted me, and often left me hungry. Despite being the head of the family, Vinayak Raut never listened to my concerns."

Police Action Against Shamans

Based on Girija Raut's written complaint, the police have filed a case against former MP Vinayak Raut, his wife, their councilor son Geetesh Raut, and two shamans under anti-superstition laws and domestic violence regulations. One of the accused shamans, Baba Firoz Sheikh, has been arrested. Both Girija and Sheikh have appeared in court. The complaint alleges that her in-laws forced her to undergo black magic rituals conducted by Sheikh.

Vinayak Raut's Denial

In response to the allegations, former MP Vinayak Raut has categorically denied all claims, labeling them as part of a larger conspiracy related to a divorce case. He asserts that Girija demanded ₹12 crores in alimony, a three-bedroom flat, and a car. When she failed to extort these demands, she resorted to this tactic to implicate their family.

Questioning the Timing of the Complaint

When Raut questioned the timing of the complaint, Girija explained that his family is very influential, which initially deterred her from filing a report.

Allegations of Misconduct During Honeymoon and Abroad

Girija has also made serious allegations against her husband, claiming that during their honeymoon in Ooty, he refused to engage in physical intimacy and pushed her away. He insisted that such relations could only occur in international locations, not in India. After returning from Ooty, during a family event in their ancestral village of Talgaon, he publicly humiliated her for walking slowly.

Furthermore, Girija alleges that during a trip to Australia in 2018, when she brought up the topic of intimacy, her husband physically assaulted her and threatened her life if she got closer. She claims that similar disputes occurred in their Mumbai home, and her mother-in-law was fully aware of the situation.
