On April 13, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav condemned the BJP government following violent protests by workers in Noida Phase 2, stating that injustice in Uttar Pradesh has reached alarming levels. Speaking to reporters, Yadav emphasized that under the BJP's rule, various forms of injustice are rampant, including economic disparities and rising inflation, which contribute to the suffering of the populace. He noted that the recent events in Noida showcased workers demanding their rights on a large scale.

Yadav held the administration and state government accountable for these incidents, asserting that they bear full responsibility. He expressed concern over wage disparities, questioning why the Uttar Pradesh government did not provide relief when other states increased workers' salaries. The protests in Noida's hosiery complex were sparked by demands for wage hikes, which escalated into violence, with demonstrators reportedly vandalizing vehicles and properties and throwing stones at the police. Reports indicate that a car was set ablaze during the unrest.

To manage the situation, authorities deployed a significant police presence. On April 12, Noida's District Magistrate Meha Roopam convened a meeting with the Principal Secretary (Labour) and the Labour Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh to address issues concerning workers' rights. The District Magistrate informed X that a crucial meeting was held at the Noida Authority to maintain industrial peace, with the Principal Secretary (Labour) and the Labour Commissioner participating virtually to discuss various topics, including the protection of workers' interests, double payment for overtime, bonuses, weekly holidays, and workplace safety.
