Ajit Pawar's Remarks on BJP's Treatment of Workers

On Tuesday, Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, directed criticism towards his ally, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming that the ruling party fails to appreciate the contributions of its long-standing workers.

Pawar made these comments while referencing Amol Balwadkar, a former BJP councilor from Pune's Baner area, who was denied a ticket for the upcoming municipal elections scheduled for January 15.

As the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Pawar addressed a rally in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune district, where he highlighted Balwadkar's resignation from the BJP following the ticket denial, leading him to join the NCP.

During his speech, Pawar emphasized that the NCP not only recognizes the efforts of its dedicated workers but also provides them with election tickets. He acknowledged that despite being in an alliance with the BJP at both the state and central levels, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is steering the country towards development.

He stated, 'My criticism is aimed solely at those who have held power in Pune and PCMC (Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation), where development has stagnated over the past nine years.'
