Ajay Rai's Health Emergency

Ajay Rai, the president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, was admitted to the emergency ward of Medanta Hospital in Lucknow on Friday evening due to a sudden health issue. According to hospital officials, his condition is currently stable, and a specialized team of doctors is monitoring him closely. Dr. Rakesh Kapoor, the director of Medanta Hospital, informed that Rai collapsed at his residence around 6 PM on Friday, prompting his immediate transfer to the hospital.


Upon examination, it was discovered that Rai was suffering from low sodium levels and elevated blood pressure. Medical professionals provided him with urgent treatment, leading to an improvement in his condition. The hospital director confirmed that a team of doctors is continuously overseeing his health, and as of now, Rai is conscious, able to communicate, and his condition remains stable.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his wishes for Ajay Rai's swift recovery. In a post on social media, Modi stated, 'I have received news about the ill health of Ajay Rai, the president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress. I wish him a speedy recovery.' Rai has contested against Modi in the last three general elections—2014, 2019, and 2024—representing Congress from the Varanasi constituency but has not secured a victory.
