Air India Faces Scrutiny After Employee Dismissals Following Tragic Crash
Air India Under Investigation After Employee Terminations
India's aviation regulatory authority has mandated Air India to terminate three of its employees due to serious safety violations, raising significant concerns. This decision comes shortly after a tragic aviation incident in Ahmedabad that resulted in the loss of 270 lives.
On June 12, an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, bound for London, crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, landing in the vicinity of B.J. Medical College's hostel in the Meghani Nagar area of Gujarat.

The crash claimed the lives of 241 out of the 242 passengers on board, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Additionally, several individuals on the ground were also killed.
Officials are currently conducting DNA matching to identify the victims, as many bodies were so severely burned that identification is challenging.
Rushikesh Patel, the spokesperson for the Gujarat government and health minister, stated, "So far, DNA matching for 220 samples has been completed, and relatives of the victims have been contacted. The bodies of 202 victims have been handed over to their families, and the identification process is ongoing."
