Air India Express Temporarily Suspends Flights from Mangalore to Dubai

Air India Express has announced the temporary suspension of one of its daily flights from Mangalore to Dubai, reducing weekly flights significantly. This decision is a response to operational challenges stemming from the ongoing crisis in West Asia, which has resulted in the closure of airspace over several key regions. While Air India Express reduces its services, Indigo Airlines continues its scheduled flights to Dubai without changes. The situation has forced many airlines to adjust their operations, impacting air travel between Europe, Asia, and West Asia. Read on to learn more about the implications of these cancellations.

Flight Cancellations Due to Operational Reasons

Air India Express has announced the temporary cancellation of one of its two daily flights, IX813/IX814, from Mangalore International Airport to Dubai, effective from June 17 to June 30, citing operational reasons.

As a result of this decision, the total number of weekly flights on the Mangalore-Dubai route will decrease from 18 to 11. In contrast, Indigo Airlines has maintained its schedule of four weekly flights to Dubai without any alterations.

According to official sources, this reduction in flights is primarily attributed to the ongoing crisis in West Asia, which has led to the closure of airspace over several regions, including Israel, Iran, Iraq, and Jordan.

The closure of airspace has forced airlines to cancel or reroute hundreds of flights, significantly impacting air operations between Europe, Asia, and West Asia.
