AIADMK's Meeting with Amit Shah
The General Secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Edappadi K. Palaniswami, announced on Thursday that he met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the capital. During this meeting, he briefed Shah on the current political climate in Tamil Nadu. Palaniswami expressed optimism about the AIADMK's chances in the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections and mentioned ongoing discussions with other parties for the National Democratic Alliance.

Palaniswami told reporters that he had a meeting with Amit Shah at his residence last night at 9 PM. He discussed the political situation in Tamil Nadu and the need to end the DMK's rule. The AIADMK is in talks with several parties to form a coalition government in Tamil Nadu. He highlighted the rising crime rates in the state and noted that he could not meet Shah during his visit due to his own public engagements. Palaniswami reiterated the party's stance on O. Panneerselvam's re-entry into AIADMK, stating that Shah assured him of non-interference in internal party matters.
He pointed out that crime has surged since the DMK came to power, with significant concerns regarding the safety of women and children. Palaniswami mentioned that he was unable to meet Shah during his visit to Tamil Nadu due to his own public events. He emphasized that there is no place for O. Panneerselvam in the party, and Shah has also indicated that he would not interfere in the party's internal affairs.

Palaniswami announced that the Pattali Makkal Katchi has joined the NDA alliance and expressed hope that more parties would follow suit. He stated, “PMK has allied with AIADMK, and soon several other parties will join us. I cannot disclose this publicly yet; it will be revealed once everything is finalized... AIADMK will lead the government in Tamil Nadu.” Elections are expected to take place in Tamil Nadu within the first six months of this year.
