Allegations of Infidelity and Domestic Violence

In Agra, a 30-year-old woman has accused her lawyer husband of having an illicit relationship with her sister-in-law. She claims that her husband has not been staying with her at night and began physically abusing her just ten days after their wedding.

The woman reported that whenever she confronts him about his behavior, he resorts to violence. She managed to record a video of one incident, but her husband destroyed her phone upon discovering it. Following these events, she has been expelled from her home. This incident occurred in the Jagdishpura police jurisdiction, specifically in the Awadhpuri Maharani Bagh Nihal Bagh colony.

In her complaint to the police, the woman stated that she married a local man on April 20, 2025. Just ten days into their marriage, he began to physically assault her and subsequently stopped coming home.

She later learned about the affair between her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, which she believes is the reason for her husband's abusive behavior and his absence at night. She alleges that her husband has been involved in an extramarital relationship with her sister-in-law.

When she opposed his actions, he began demanding dowry, pressuring her for 2.5 million rupees to buy a luxury vehicle. Her brother-in-law has also verbally abused her while intoxicated. Despite several attempts to resolve the issues through community meetings, no progress has been made.

The violence continued, and on January 20, she was forcibly removed from her home. Her husband accuses her of being immoral. When she caught him with her sister-in-law, he became enraged. After recording the incident, he broke her phone. Her husband, who is a lawyer, has threatened her, claiming she cannot harm him legally.

Her in-laws have also participated in the abuse. She recalls a traumatic experience where her husband and mother-in-law forced her to abort a pregnancy by administering medication, stating that she would not be allowed to keep the child until she brought the money for the car.

The woman has filed an FIR at the Jagdishpura police station. Her husband, who recently became a lawyer, has threatened her, asserting that she cannot challenge him. Her father-in-law has also verbally abused her.

Additionally, her husband has created a fake Instagram account in her name, spreading false chats and insults among her family and relatives, severely damaging her social reputation. She wishes to remain in her marital home but has been forcibly evicted.
