Adult Tiger Enters Farmer's Home in Jharkhand, Rescued by Authorities

In a startling incident in Jharkhand, an adult Bengal tiger entered a farmer's home, leading to panic in the village. Fortunately, forest officials quickly responded and captured the tiger, ensuring the safety of the residents, including two young girls who were inside the house. The tiger is now being transported to a biological park for monitoring, with future decisions regarding its release pending. This event highlights the ongoing interactions between wildlife and human habitats in the region.
 

Tiger Encounter in Jharkhand

On Wednesday, an adult Bengal tiger made its way into a farmer's residence in a village located in the Ranchi district of Jharkhand, causing widespread panic in the area. Fortunately, forest officials were able to capture the animal later on.


This incident took place in the village of Mardu, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Muri police station, approximately 65 kilometers from Ranchi, the state capital. According to Shrikant Verma, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Ranchi, the tiger entered the home of Puran Chand Mahato around 5 AM.


Verma reported that upon noticing the tiger entering a room in his house, the farmer quickly secured the door from the outside. At the time of the intrusion, two young girls, aged around eight, were also inside the house but were safely evacuated.


The official mentioned that a rescue team from the Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR) arrived at the scene and successfully initiated a rescue operation to capture the tiger. After being placed in a cage, the animal was tranquilized and will be transported to the Birsa Biological Park in Ranchi, where it will be monitored. The decision regarding the tiger's release will be made at a later time.
